Ecostar Air Source Hot Water Cylinder Summary
The Ecostar is a clever device which combines a hot water tank and a small air source heat pump and will provide all your domestic hot water requirements. This machine works just like the refrigerator in your kitchen but instead of chilling the food contained in your refrigerator, it heats a large tank of hot water.
This machine works like other air source heat pumps and simply converts low energy heat taken from the air into high energy heat used to heat your hot water tank up to 55°C.
At an estimated hot water consumption of 50 litres / person and a daily electricity consumption of 3.25kWh this will provide your domestic hot water requirements at a monthly cost of around €15.
Cool, dehumidified air is expelled from the unit and this air can be used to cool your dwelling in summer or simply expelled outside.
The unit can run during the daytime hours to take advantage of warmer air and has a programmable timer fitted.
The unit is installed just like a conventional mains pressure hot water cylinder.
The unit is exceptionally quiet - 49db (A), that is slightly more than a fridge/freezer.
